Mr. Renato G. Tibon worked previously with different non-life insurance companies in various capacities as General Agent and Branch Manager from 1977 to 2000 before joining Caritas Health Shield, Inc., an HMO company as Agency Manager in 2000 up to the present. He used to be the Vice-Chairman of Bangon Kagay-an, a Non-Governmental Organization which rose to prominence when, along with various groups, it won the case filed against the City of Cagayan de Oro for a Writ of Kalikasan prohibiting logging and mining around the environs of the city. He held positions as President of the homeowners association where he resided from 2004-2011, President of the Kiwanis Club of Secured Valley and later as the Lieutenant Governor of the Kiwanis Club International Philippine South District Division 4A in 2003 to 2014. He is an active member of Couples for Christ, CDO-MISOR since 2007 as Unit head and organizer of Sector B1 Music Ministry. He joined CDP in August 2012, first as member and later attended training seminars to qualify as a National and Master’s Trainer/Fellow of the CDPI Fellowship of the 300.
In 2014, he became the Regional Chairman of CDP-Region X and appointed as the first Political Action Officer (PAO) of CDPI tasked to handle the organizing and members’ training of various chapters in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga Regions and is a prime mover of the CDP Cagayan de Oro City Chapter. Presently, he is CDP’s Vice President for Mindanao and the Program Manager of the Centrist Democracy Political Institute based in Cagayan de Oro City. He studied at Liceo de Cagayan taking up B.S. Major in Banking and Finance and was a member of the 1975 ROTC Advance Graduates in said school.
